Tehran

Tehran is the most populous city in Iran. This city was the capital of the Zand dynasty for a short time and has been the capital of Iran since the Qajar and Pahlavi periods. Tehran has been a city of immigrants for many years, and Persian speakers, Azerbaijanis, Mazandaranis, Kurds, Gilaks, and other ethnicities from all over the country make up the residents of Tehran.
