Isfahan

The province of Isfahan, with an area of 106,179 square kilometers and a population of over 7.4 million people, is located in the heart of Iran. Isfahan Province is known as a four-season land, with characteristics that are unique to this region. Although the western and southern parts of the province are dominated by towering mountains, a large portion of the province consists of desert and semi-desert lands. The highest point in the province is Mount Karkas, reaching an elevation of 3950 meters, while the lowest point is the Kashan Plain, with a height just over 800 meters above sea level. The Zayandeh Rud River, originating from the Zagros Mountains, plays a fundamental role in shaping the climate of this region. This river, formed by the convergence of dozens of visible springs along its course, brings fertility wherever it flows. The formation of the earliest civilization, which today holds the position of the city of Isfahan, is undoubtedly linked to the Zayandeh Rud River. Flowing through Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, the river meanders through countless twists and turns before finally draining into the Gavkhouni Swamp. Its length is 420 kilometers, and bridges and dams have been constructed on it since the time of the Sassanians.

Isfahan, the province of turquoise domes, Islamic walls, famous bridges, and unique buildings, is situated in the heart of Iran. In addition to Persians, the population of the province includes Lurs, Bakhtiaris, Georgians, and a small population of Armenians and Jews. This city has been the capital of Iran for many centuries and has been one of the most populous and beautiful cities in the world. Isfahan was one of the most prosperous and civilized cities during the Safavid era, and most of its historical monuments date back to this period. The beautiful Zayandeh Rud River, originating from the Zagros Mountains of Bakhtiari, passes through this province.
